ooooohh…I feel for ya Dave, I really do. I remember once that I got sunburned bad enough that this joker thought it would be funny to slap it…his doing that caused me to throw my back out when I jerked from the pain. I was at work at the time and he was one of the clients. I got my own back in a way when he called later that afternoon asking me to look for one of his customers glasses…I told him that I couldn’t walk as my back was out but when the other girl was free I’d have her look for it. He was apologizing during the rest of that conversation. So, Jason is getting another contest together…cool, I’m in. I’m going to tell my English teacher, too (more bragging rights for me) to see if he would like to give it a shot (hahahahaha)

Lets see, June 30th….yup was on a patio at a lake side bar swilling martini’s in preparation for Canada Day drinking.

But don’t worry, I did get enough mosquito bites to be punished…seems they like their quota of booze too.

PS. Didn’t your boss let it slip that I told her to keep you occupied and out of trouble while i was away? Note to self, i owe G lunch for doing a good job.

Would say it is maybe a bit of both. How much is a matter of debate. There are some people who do not respond to greetings. But then again as long as they do their job and don’t bother me then I am fine with it. Now if they did fuck all then it would piss me off.

Nope, not trying to bug him at all, and yeah I think about 4-5 times I’ve said goodnight.

And in this particular case it hasn’t even bugged me, even momentarily, it has only struck me as odd.

So you’ve said goodnight to him six times and he has said nothing? And you don’t keep saying goodnight in the small hope that it bugs him in some way?

We have a couple of people like that at work (that don’t respond to greetings). It bugs me momentarily but then I shrug. I don’t like them, though, so I’m pretty sure I’m not mature. I no longer say hello or acknowledge their presence.

Maturity and not giving a fuck? Not the same thing. The not giving a fuck connotes hurt feelings somewhere. But, not getting bugged, that’s different. Maybe you are mature.

Maybe it was an omen after your last computer crash. Maybe Dar figured out the life expectancy of some computer parts and figured now was a good time to leave. Of course the 4th making a long weekend helps

The popups I am mentioning are ones produced by both browsers, not by web sites they visit. MSIE always has the insane pop-up about blogspot pages and gmail not being secure, and Firefox lets me have it with the memorize-password popups.

What they need is a checkbox that has “never do this again”. So the first time it appears is the last time.

Seems that the browsers are getting better at blocking annoying popups from web pages, but not from their own code.

Not nearly enough….

Long long ago in a galaxy far far away all the people who make browsers agreed to a format of standardization of how they would display pages written in all the different web page languages, html, xml, asp, etc.

They all lied.

So people who write applications for web sites decided ok fuck it I am going to write for what I know. More people knew how IE displayed web pages and wrote for them thinking Microsoft would rule the world forever and ever.

Of course this was a fairy tale world and they were wrong and Firefox with it’s superior quality and speed is the browser of choice for geeks and freaks.

Since there are more of us than the “norms” who turn on the computer and look at it an wonder how a big E stands for Internet (”Shouldn’t it be an big I Mildred?” “You keep away from me with that devil machine Frank!”), wait where the fuck was I going with this?

Oh yeah ok they all lived miserably for a few years.

If you are getting pop-ups, there are many built in pop-up blockers and add-on pop up blockers you can get.

If pop-ups are getting through your pop-up blockers it’s a good sign that you are infested with spyware that is blocking your blockers. Fun huh?

I hate the popups in Firefox. Especially the unnecessary security-breach “remembe this password?” ones.

But MSIE has its own popup problems.

has anyone told you lately just how freakin wonderful you are?
i really should have known that. but then again, i should also know better that to customize my computers programs at 2 am. i’ll have to do a quick search for the ie tab.
if you don’t mind, what is it that causes pogo (and other sites) to work with one browser but not with another. does it have to do with the way the browsers access the internet? or does it have to do with the way the site is written?
