I’m gonna change things up at a later date and route the external port call through an http proxy so that firewalls shouldn’t be an issue. If you aren’t seeing the cards it’s 99% that it’s a firewall issue.

It’s very possible you tried to look at it while I was working on the file, this is very much a work in progress. I’ve been screwing around with it a lot over the last day and a half.

It’s also possible that the issue is a firewall. After you hit the show cards button, the program goes on to connect to the card server via a non standard port that some firewalls may block.

The second issue is much more likely. I have tested with IE 8 on my end and I know that it works.

I have further enhanced the program today so that it is now “multiplayer”. If another user is on the web page now at the same time you are and they click a card, it will also turn over on your screen. Your clicks will show up on their screen as well.

The current difficulties I am having is that the cards are not in a persistent server state. If you leave the page and come back, the cards you flipped do not stay flipped and new users to the screen don’t see what past users have done. The actual values of the cards are remaining consistent though.

Just wanted to give you a heads up. IE 8 is causing me problems in other areas of my life (specifically with some graphics not displaying no matter what options I check), so it could just be me. But, if your potential market has IE 8, it might be worth exploring with other people to see if they have the same bahaviour.

I remember that Vacant Lot skit – but yeah, in a different format. Was the one you remember a scene with a dungeon with prisoners chained to the wall? The ridiculous scene just made it that much funnier!
