One of the things I love about where I work is the variety of the people.
I’ve got a very wide variety of interests. I’m a hard core science geek. I’m a computer geek. I’m a photography buff. I am a big music enthusiast. I am a voracious reader of multiple genres (although I do have a favorite in sci-fi and fantasy). I love comedy, both stand up and skit. I am also a video gamer.
It’s a wide range of interests.
But there are such a wide variety of people that work here, I can always have a great conversation on any of the above topics.
There is an engineer that shares my science and computer geekdom. My boss is a former English teacher with a passion for both literature and photography (she’s taken classes for photography in Paris… bitch). The guy that does our drafting likes comedy, pop culture, and the hard sciences as well. The girl in marketing shares new musical finds with me. Many of the guys in production are video game fans.
So even when I am having a crappy day at work, I can at least have good conversation with a variety of people no matter what I want to discuss.
It’s one of the things that make ths a good place to work.

I guess you’re like me in a way with all those wide varieties and interests. Mine differ from yours, sure, but we do share some of the same interests. By the way, do you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert? It’s just something that I’ve taken in my psychology class and I was just wondering. I think you might be an introvert myself.
Hi Dave,
By the way simple but cool blog you have. I’ve read a few of your posts and enjoyed reading through your random thoughts and views (esp MJ’s demise
. I pretty agree reg having a variety of people sharing same interests at work, somehow it eases that burden of stress. You can unwind a few mins (during coffee breaks) by just having a good conversation.
Keep writing Dave! Hope you’ll get some of your works published someday too.
Thanks.
Gregory
