So, I placed the first 2 MacIntosh machines that have ever been purchased by the company on to the network today.
I like Macs don’t get me wrong. But I don’t know Macs as well as I know PC’s.
When a PC breaks down, I can fix it. There is nothing that you can do to a [...]

Shake Rattle and Roll

A cute little 5.8 earthquake in Los Angeles today.
Working in suburbia, I did indeed feel this one. We don’t often feel small ones in our bunker style concrete building, but most people in the building felt it.
I was thumping my leg up and down and for a while I just thought it was a little [...]

Do you recognize this 17 year old?
Well the last time you saw him you may have been listening to music.
NPR tracked the teen down and did a story which can be seen here.
The first photo is by Jason Lazurus and the Nirvana album cover is copyright Geffen Records.
I Wish

It is my most ferverent wish that all people who write viruses would die in a fire in horrible agony.
No matter how good your anti-virus software, not matter how diligent your practices you are always vunerable to the next new virus until the antivirus companies capture a copy of the virus and protect against it [...]
Movie Review

Ok, Dar and I went to see Dark Knight this weekend.
It was amazing. I can’t say enough good things about it. Heath Ledger was just incredible as the Joker.
It makes a mockery of the US system for clasifying movie ratings. Dark Knight is PG 13. Dark Knight is a very dark movie.
There are only 4 [...]
Robin’s Flight
Posted in David Watters Daily Post, contest on July 15, 2008 | 11 Comments »
Robin opened the window and threw down her bag. She didn’t worry about the contents, learning long ago to own nothing breakable in this house.
She deftly climbed to the ground flitting from branch to branch like the bird that was her namesake. Picking up her pack she slipped into the shadows of the tree listening [...]
Contest

I have entered Jason’s contest as I mentioned in last post.
As soon as he posts it I will cross post it here.
I didn’t write the 3 versions like I was going to because I liked the first one I finished. I still may write the other 2 to see what you think.
Contest Entry
Posted in David Watters Daily Post on July 10, 2008 | 3 Comments »
So I have not written my entry for Jason’s contest at The Clarity of Night yet, but I have 3 different stories forming in my head.
I don’t know as of yet if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
Perhaps I will write all 3 and post them here after I decide which one [...]
Owies and Milestones and Contests, Oh My!
Posted in David Watters Daily Post on July 7, 2008 | 2 Comments »
I’ll start with the milestone first.
It happened last month but I didn’t notice ’til today. My blog has received over 10,000 page views since I moved it to the new site in September of last year.
Now granted, it’s the same 20 people coming back over and mainly but with my posting falling off lately I’d [...]
I Love This Clip

I can watch this clip over and and over. It makes me laugh over and over.
You don’t even have to know the back story, although there is one that makes it even that much funnier.
The follow up video is also very funny.
Maturity or Ennui?

We have a new employee working in our area.
He is very, very quiet.
I actually this very second asked a co-worker how long the new guy has been here. Between the 2 of us, we’ve come up that it has to be about 6 weeks now.
In that 6 weeks, I may have heard him say a [...]
