Well yesterday I showed a web site that chooses your ideal US living location.
Apparently Darlene and I will be not be in the same location
My number one is Hopskinsville, Kentucky apparently. My number 2 Paris, Tennessee is Darlene’s #8 so maybe we can compromise.
Seven in my 24 are in North Carolina. I have been to North Carolina and really enjoyed it but it was humid as hell and one of the few things I had in the strongly agreed column was “It’s not the heat it’s the humidity that kills me”.
What I found interesting is that I have had the, “What is your dream location?” conversation a hell of a lot in the past. I have constantly been told by people who have traveled the US extensively, who’s opinions I actually value that I would love Tennessee and Kentucky.
I have been to both states but only in a passing through drive by type of way.
Funny enough, with the last name of Watters, being close to water seems to be a very important choice of most of the Watters clan and my wife when choosing a place they want to live.

i’ve visited friends in kentucky. seemed like a nice place but i wasn’t there long. (only a week) not long enough to do the kind of research needed before uprooting the whole family.
Hopkinsville, Kentucky was actually number 6 on my list. Truth or Consequences, New Mexico was number 1. I didn’t get to check out all the info on the places because my damned computer froze on me. My internet is also hit or miss because of the weather we’re having right now, i.e. thunder storms. Boy, to be somewhere sunny right now!
p.s. Paris, Tennessee was number 10 on my list.
Truth or Consquences is the #1 city named after a game show. I’d consider moving to Win Ben Stein’s Money, Vermont once they incorporate the place.
I just filled out the thing. I got a bunch of Tennessee area places Tulsa ended up #3, which I found interesting, as I have connections to the place.
No cities in “big states” like California, Texas, Florida, or New York ended up on the list.
